Africa is growing dynamically as the youngest continent on Earth. In the 2000s, the economy in Africa grew at an annual rate of six percent, well above the global average, and people under the age of 30 reached 70 percent of the population. Now the continent is called the new growth engine of the global economy, with its growth trajectory far exceeding expectations.
The Korea-Africa Foundation was officially launched on June 12, 2018, as an organization affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Korea-Africa Foundation aims to build a public-private partnership platform to help the Republic of Korea and Africa grow together. In order to deepen our understanding of, and exchange with, nations on this emerging continent, we will support long-term and comprehensive research on African countries and train experts to build substantive partnerships in various fields such as politics, economy, culture, and academics. In addition, we will play a pivotal role in helping Korean companies and the private sector settle in and engage with Africa more easily, and in helping Korean and African youth grow together. We ask for your continued interest and support in the activities of the Korea-Africa Foundation.
