Orientation Held for the 2025 Africa On-site Exhibition Participation Support Program
On May 19 (Mon), the Korea-Africa Foundation held an orientation session at the Diplomatic Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul for participants of the 2025 Africa On-site Exhibition Participation Support Program.
The orientation was organized for ten selected Korean companies in the food and food-tech sectors, who will be dispatched to Cape Town, South Africa in June to take part in the upcoming Africa Food Show 2025. The session aimed to support the participants’ pre-departure preparations and enhance their understanding of the African market.
The event began with welcome remarks from Mr. Kim Young-chae, Executive Director of the Korea-Africa Foundation. This was followed by a keynote presentation on the African market by Mr. Yoon Sung-hyuk, Advisor at DR&AJU Law Group, who formerly served as Head of Samsung Electronics Africa and CEO of its South African branch. Mr. Shim Hyun-soo, Team Leader at the Korea Food Industry Association, then shared practical strategies and key considerations for participating in the exhibition.
The Foundation also provided detailed guidance on the overall schedule, on-site interpretation, sample preparation, and registration processes, and hosted a networking session to facilitate dialogue among the participants.
With the orientation as a starting point, the selected companies have now entered the final stage of preparation for their dispatch. Through their participation in Africa Food Show 2025, they will gain firsthand insight into local market responses and explore practical business opportunities with African buyers and distribution partners.
The Korea-Africa Foundation will continue to provide support throughout the program, ensuring that this dispatch serves as a meaningful first step for the participating companies toward entering the African market.
