On July 24, the Korea-Africa Foundation hosted an outcome sharing session at its headquarters in Seoul as part of the 2025 African Market Entry Support Program for Korean SMEs.
This program supported Korean food and food-tech companies in participating in the Africa Food Show 2025, a leading B2B exhibition held in Cape Town, South Africa this past June, and included a local market research component. The session served as a platform for companies to reflect on their achievements and discuss future directions for support.
Eight out of the ten participating companies?Orion, Nongshim, GL, Kijami Table, Ilhwa, Daesang, Singsong Food, and PMW Global?attended in person to share insights on market response, export consultations, and upcoming business plans. They were joined by representatives from partner organizations, including the South African Chamber of Commerce in Korea (SAFCHAM) and the Korea Food Industry Association, who contributed valuable perspectives to the discussion.
Throughout the session, participants shared a range of experiences?from export deals currently under negotiation to direct feedback from local buyers and observations about consumer demand and distribution structures. Constructive feedback on the overall program was also exchanged, including suggestions to improve pre- and post-exhibition business matching and enhance the design and coordination of the Korean Pavilion in future initiatives.
