The Korea-Africa Foundation and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy jointly held the second Africa Experts Roundtable at the El Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seoul on Friday, September 5. The meeting was organized to examine the economic trends of each of the four major regions in Africa and to discuss the direction of support for Korean companies' overseas expansion and economic cooperation measures between Korea and Africa.

About 15 people attended the event, including experts from academia and related organizations, including the Trade and Cooperation Director General of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and Kim Young-chae, the president of the Korea-Africa Foundation. Kim Myung-hee, the vice president of KOTRA and head of the Innovation and Growth Division, elaborated the economic situations in different regions in Africa and the opportunities for Korean companies. In the following discussion, Seoni Han, the assistant researcher of KIEP, Kim Sung-jin, the team manager of Yonhap News, and Kim Chang-tae, the deputy director of Orion, participated to share various perspectives on the site, and continued in-depth discussions on the direction of sustainable economic cooperation between Korea and Africa.
