Farewell Dinner on the Occasion of the Korea?Africa Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM)

On November 4 (Tue), 2025, the Korea-Africa Foundation hosted a farewell dinner on the occasion of the 2025 Korea?Africa Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM). The event brought together around 100 participants, including members of the African Union (AU) Chairperson’s Office, officials from African foreign ministries, diplomatic missions accredited to Korea from China, Japan, Indonesia, and Malaysia, as well as the Korean-based African diplomatic corps.

In his congratulatory remarks, President Young-Chae Kim emphasized that “this meeting has been a very meaningful occasion to carry forward the momentum of cooperation established at the first Korea?Africa Summit.” He added, “I hope that the upcoming Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will further develop our relations in a broader and more strategic manner.” He also stated that the Foundation plans to “expand programs for economic and cultural cooperation and strengthen networking and business opportunities at the private sector level.”

Sianga Kivuila Samuel Abilio, Ambassador of Angola to the Republic of Korea, highlighted that “Korea is emerging as an important strategic partner for Africa based on its advanced technology and development experience.” He expressed his gratitude to the Foundation for its practical contributions to enhancing economic, cultural, and people-to-people exchange between Korea and Africa.
