Signing of an Implementation Arrangement for AfCFTA Cooperation Project

On Thursday, the 13th, Kim Young-chae, Chairman of the Korea-Africa Foundation, signed an Implementation Arrangement for a cooperation project with the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)* at the Korea-Africa Foundation.

* African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA): An initiative to establish a free trade area for African economic integration, with trade commencing under the AfCFTA in January 2021.

The Korea-Africa Foundation will collaborate with the AfCFTA Secretariat to launch joint projects starting next year, utilizing the Korea-AfCFTA Cooperation Fund. Through this project, the Korea-Africa Foundation plans to discover and support promising startups in Africa and implement various programs to expand exchange and cooperation between the two sides. Furthermore, it is expected to foster a sustainable ecosystem for startup exchange and economic cooperation between Korea and Africa.
