2026 K-Food Egypt Delegation Orientation Held

The Korea-Africa Foundation held an orientation session for the “2026 K-Food Egypt Delegation” on April 10, 2026, at the KNDA Hall in Diplomatic Town, Seoul.

The orientation was organized to enhance participating companies’ understanding of the program and to provide preliminary insights into the Egyptian market ahead of the upcoming on-site mission scheduled for May. The event was attended by representatives from the Foundation, the Korea Food Industry Association, the Embassy of Egypt in Korea, as well as officials from related organizations and ten participating food companies.

The program began with opening remarks by the President of the Korea-Africa Foundation, followed by an introduction of participating companies and an overview of the project. Subsequently, Mr. Hazem Nasr, Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of Egypt in Korea, delivered a presentation on Egypt’s overall economic and social landscape. Ms. Chaeeun Kim, Senior Research Analyst at Euromonitor, also shared key insights into trends in the Egyptian food market, providing practical information to support the development of market entry strategies.

The “2026 K-Food Egypt Delegation” is a joint initiative led by the Korea-Africa Foundation, the Korea Food Industry Association, and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Egypt. The program aims to support Korean food companies in establishing a foothold in the Egyptian market. A total of 17 Korean food companies will participate in the mission, with on-site programs scheduled to take place in Cairo, Egypt, from May 2 to May 9, 2026.

During the mission, participants will engage in a range of activities, including one-on-one B2B business meetings with Egyptian buyers, B2C tasting and promotional events targeting local consumers and food industry stakeholders, and field-based market research focusing on distribution channels and market conditions.

Through these activities, participating companies are expected to gain a deeper understanding of local distribution structures and consumer trends, identify tangible business opportunities, and lay the groundwork for expanding into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) market.
