The Korea-Africa Foundation, together with the Korea Food Industry Association and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Egypt, held the “2026 K-Food Egypt Delegation” B2C Tasting and Promotional Event at the Residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Egypt on Wednesday, May 6.
The “2026 K-Food Egypt Delegation” was organized to support Korean food companies in establishing a foundation for entering the Egyptian market and was carried out in cooperation with the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Korea. A total of 14 Korean food companies participated in the tasting booths during the event, including Nokchawon Co.,Ltd, Nongshim Co., Ltd., Nutrione Co., Ltd., DAMWOO Agricultural Co., Ltd., Daesang Corporation, Dairyzen Co., LTD, Binggrae Co., Ltd., Sempio Foods Company, SWEETDEO Co., Ltd., CM F&B Co., Ltd., YOUNG POONG Co., Ltd., ORION CORP, Paris Croissant Co., Ltd., and PNFood System Co.,Ltd. Approximately 200 participants attended the event, including officials from Egypt’s Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, officials from the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS), local influencers, fans of Korean culture, and stakeholders from the food industry.
The event began with opening remarks by KIM Il-Hoon, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Egypt, followed by congratulatory remarks from KIM Young-Chae, President of The Korea-Africa Foundation, and PARK Jin-Sun, Chairman of The Korea Food Industry Association and CEO of Sempio Foods Company. A congratulatory performance by the Goodmory Ensemble followed thereafter.
In addition to product tasting sessions hosted by participating companies, the event featured experiential booths where participants could make bibimbap and hwachae together with Egyptian Korean-food chefs, as well as catering services, providing attendees with an opportunity to directly experience K-food and Korean culinary culture.
