The inaugural conference of the Korean Association for Francophone Africa was held on Friday 29 May at Busan University of Foreign Studies.
Held under the theme ‘The Past, Present and Future of Francophone Africa’, the conference featured a keynote address by Manuel Jober, Director of the Institute for International Francophonie at the University of Lyon 3, followed by sessions on ‘Changes and Challenges in Francophone Africa’ and ‘Linguistic Practices and Cultural Imagination in Francophone Africa’.
Finally, a round-table discussion was held on the theme ‘Expansion and Solidarity in Francophone African Studies: The Way Forward’,
with Kim Won-nyeong, Head of the Research Division at the Korea-Africa Foundation, participating as a panellist.
