Attendance at the Korea-Egypt Business Roundtable (BRT)

The President of the Korea-Africa Foundation attended the Korea-Egypt Business Roundtable held at Lotte Hotel Seoul on October 7. Co-hosted by Korea's Ministry of Trade and Industry and Egypt's Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade on the occasion of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's state visit to Korea, the event brought together around 30 government and business representatives from both countries, including President el-Sisi and Minister of Trade and Industry Kim Jung-kwan. 

The two countries discussed ways to expand cooperation across a range of sectors, including energy and infrastructure, manufacturing, and digital industries. The event also featured the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Hyundai Rotem and Egypt's National Authority for Tunnels on a hydrogen tram project for Egypt's New Administrative Capital. Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the foundation for trade and investment, including through the pursuit of a Korea-Egypt Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
