On Thursday, October 22, the Korea-Africa Foundation held a scholarship ceremony for African students in Korea on the occasion of the 9th Seoul Dialogue on Africa.
The Scholarship Program for African Students in Korea was established to support the studies and daily lives of African students in Korea and to foster talent who can serve as a bridge for exchange between Korea and Africa.
This year, 21 students from 14 African countries were selected as scholarship recipients based on recommendations from African embassies in Korea. Each student will receive 300,000 won per month from September to December, for a total of 1.2 million won.
Jean-Claude Yaw Mawuena Nuekpe, a student from Ghana who attended the ceremony, expressed his gratitude, saying, “This scholarship is more than financial support. It is a sign of trust in young Africans and proof of the partnership between Korea and Africa.”
Going forward, the Foundation will continue to build and expand its network of African students in Korea, helping them pursue their studies with stability and grow into leaders of Korea-Africa cooperation.
