The Korea-Africa Foundation hosted the 2019 Business Webinar as part of the Africa Week celebration, under the theme, “Regional Integration and the 4th Industrial Revolution in Africa” on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at the FKI Conference Center.
Session 1:
The first session was moderated by Jun Woohyung, Head of Trade Analysis, Economic and Trade Cooperation Headquarters of KOTRA, under the theme “Regional Integration and Infrastructure Market Trends in Africa”. H.E Hazem M. Fahmy, Ambassador of Egypt to Korea presented on the topic, “African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Effectiveness and Expected Effects” and Mamoru Endo, Deputy Director of the External Representation Office for Asia, African Development Bank (AfDB) presented on the topic, “The Funding of African Development Bank’s (AfDB) for Development and the Role of Businesses”. Moon Jae Jeong, Deputy Director of the Korea Eximbank and Kim Kibeom, Project Proposal Engineer of GS E&C were among the participants of the panel discussion.
Session 2:
The second session was under the theme, “Changes in African Industry in the 4th Industrial Revolution”. Park Jong-gil, Professor of HRD Department at Korea University of Technology and Education presented on the topic, “Technological innovation and economic growth in the era of the 4th industrial revolution” and Yewande Sadiku, Executive Secretary and CEO of Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) presented on the topic, “Current Status and Prospect of Leapfrogging in Africa”. Hwang Kwang-myung Professor of the Graduate School of Public Safety & Security Policy, Silla University and Ko Sang-won, Executive Director of the Department of International Cooperation Research, Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) were among the participants of the panel discussion.
