The Korea-Africa Economic Forum was held on Monday, July 15, 2019 at the South African Institute Of International Affairs (SAIIA) Conference room, Johannesburg.
The first session under the theme, “African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA): Opportunities and Challenges” was moderated by His Excellency Choi Yeonghan, Korean Ambassador to Kenya and a presentation was made by Cyril Prisloo, Researcher at South African Institute Of International Affairs (SAIIA). The head of Africa and the Middle East Team of Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), Jung Jae Wook was a participant of the panel discussion.
The second session under the theme, “Korea-Africa Investment and Trade Promotion Strategy” was moderated by His Excellency Lim Hoon-min, Korean Ambassador to Ethiopia. The Africa Director General of Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Lee Seunghee, Director of International Operations of the Department of Trade and Industry, Republic of South Africa, Christopher Wood, President of the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mtho Xulu, Head of Africa Region of Rand Merchant Bank, Tshepidi Moremong and the MAnaging Director of Tutwa Consulting Group, Lesley Wentworth were participants of the panel discussion.
