The 4th Model African Union Assembly

The Korea-Africa Foundation held the 4th Model African Union Assembly from Thursday, August 26 to Friday August 27, 2021. The Assembly took place online with a total of 34 delegates representing 17 African countries. During the 18-hour debate which lasted for two-days, the role of the African Union (AU) was introduced and major issues of the African continent were discussed, followed by the adoption of agenda-specific decisions in an international conference setting.

 The agendas discussed are as follows.

1. Roles of the African Union (AU) in Promoting Cultural and Creative Industries Within the African Continent

2. Ways to Enhance Cooperation Among the AU Member States for Accelerating Digital Transformation in a New Normal 

At the closing ceremony, exceptional delegates were awarded as follows.

• Delegates of South Africa won the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Award

• Delegates of Tunisia and Tanzania won the Dean of the African Group of Ambassadors Award 

• Delegates of Ivory Coast and Nigeria won the President of the Korea-Africa Foundation Award
