From May 24th (Friday) to 25th (Saturday), the Korea-Africa Foundation, in collaboration with the Korean Association of African Studies and the Institute of African Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, hosted the "Korea-Africa International Academic Forum."
The forum, themed "2024 Korea-Africa Summit and Beyond: Paradigm and Prospects," was organized in anticipation of the upcoming 2024 Korea-Africa Summit in June. It comprised a roundtable discussion on the 24th, focusing on academic cooperation strategies for building a sustainable partnership between Korea and Africa, and an academic conference where researchers from both domestic and international institutions shared their findings.
On May 24th, the roundtable featured participants such as African Ambassadors to Korea, researchers from African research institutions in Korea, Mohamed Dafir El Kettani, vice president of Mohammed V University, and Gavaza Maluleke, professor at the University of Cape Town. They shared insights on fostering sustained cooperation between Korea and Africa.
The following day, May 25th, researchers from various fields presented their studies and achievements, exploring the potential to expand research through Korea-Africa academic cooperation.
