2024 GMEP(Global Market Expansion Program): Korean Climate Tech Startups Pitch at South Africa Global Demo Day

On August 14th (Wednesday), the foundation held an 「IR Demo Day」 in Cape Town, South Africa, featuring 7 innovative Korean climate tech startups.

The recent 「IR Demo Day」 conducted as part of the「2024 GMEP(Global Market Expansion Program)」was overseen by Korea's Ministry of SMEs and startups, managed by Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development(KISED), and organized by the foundation. The event was distinguished by the participation of key stakeholders from the startup ecosystem, including prominent venture capital investors from South Africa, government officials, and major corporations engaged in climate tech. As the IR Demo Day serves as a platform for startups to present their investment opportunities to potential investors, the foundation is committed to actively supporting these companies in securing successful investments through subsequent follow-up actions.

This program is conducted over a total of six weeks, with three weeks in South Africa and three weeks in Kenya. The participating startups are scheduled to complete their activities in South Africa by this weekend and then move to Kenya for new challenges. Given that Kenya is a global hub for climate tech, attracting attention not only from Africa but also from around the world, we look forward to significant achievements during the Kenya portion of the program.
